Update on Submissions for the last issues of Worlds of Possiblity
As of now, I have read all the submissions once and am currently in the painstaking process of whittling down the second round pile.
Hello! Here is a small update about the submissions from January and February of this year.
I had initially said I that I expected to get all the replies out by the end of March, but then, alas, a sinus infection knocked me out for a bit and I couldn't focus through that, so things have progressed more slowly. Happily, I am now over that unpleasantness, but sadly, I am still later than I had hoped to be on this.
For subscribers, this also means that the April issue may end up coming out in May, but I promise it is coming! I'd rather take the time to do it well than rush to get it to you fast by skimping on my focus as an editor.
As of now, I have read all the submissions once and am currently in the painstaking process of whittling down the second round pile. There were SO MANY good submissions! Many didn't even make it to the final round, even though they were extremely good pieces.
Stats for people who live by stats:
I received over 1,000 submissions (the exact number is a little fuzzy since some came in bundles of two or three in one file, but it is definitely more than 1,000).
Over 900 of those did not make it past the first round.
I have so far accepted 10 pieces, some of which were published in the February issue.
I currently have 73 more under final consideration, and I definitely won't be able to take all of them, so now it is a matter of weighing carefully which pieces go well together and making tough decisions. If you are still waiting on an answer, thank you for your patience! Whether or not the final word is an acceptance, please know that I did truly love your piece!
I'm pushing on the decisions a lot right now, so hopefully I will have everything sorted by the end of this month. Thanks again to everyone for being patient!
